PandA Terms

  • Activity - An action that causes a proposal to move between States
  • Budget Grids – Correspond to our current budget categories
  • Inbox - Proposals will appear in the Inbox when awaiting your action
  • Complex Proposal - Proposals with underlying Projects that include: Cross-Entity Collaborative Proposal (NCAR and UCP) or Multi-Project Proposal (Special circumstances with Budget Office direction)
  • Form - A form that collects data and branches logically based on your input. Different sets of forms exist for Proposal, Budget, PACUR, and Project.
  • Notifications - Automatic advice  of significant state changes to proposals
  • Permissions –  System settings that define allowable actions for each role
  • Project- Subordinate Proposal to the Submission Funding Proposal (Only used in Complex Proposal scenarios)
  • Reviewer Notes - Comments  by reviewers on relevant form pages that can be private in certain instances
  • Role - Defines who the user is in the system and corresponds with permissions and securities
  • Security - Defines what roles can create a proposal,  take an action in the proposal process, or read a Proposal, Budget, PACUR, or Project
  • Simple Proposal - Includes Single Lab or Program Proposal and Multi-Lab or Multi-Program Collaborative Proposals within the same Entity (NCAR or UCP)
  • State - Identifies the current stage of the proposal process
  • Workflow - How a proposal moves through the creation, review, and approval processes
  • Workspace – A summary view of Proposal, Budget, Budget Reports, PACUR, or Submitted to Sponsor information based on data entered in the forms
